Replay: BKLYN DESIGNS

The final day of BKLYN DESIGNS was full of fancy accents, good-looking Pratt students, and wood. Tons and tons of unlacquered, beautifully integrated, and (mostly) reclaimed wood. My two favorite pieces from the event were:

uhuru’s highly publicized Cyclone Lounger

one-of-a-kind Wood Ear Sofa by City Joinery

Other highlights included a super industrial-looking adjustable table by Ram Metal, the Snug-it! storage solutions by EcoSystems, and several beautifully simple pieces by KWH (including the fittingly named set of vice furniture).

May 9’s daily design idea is get excited about reclaimed wood in furniture. Even the mainstream-but-stylish West Elm now sells a Natural Tree-Stump Side Table.
